Moose safari
The island of Andøya has a surprisingly dense Moose population (over 200) and very high chances of spotting them if you know where and when to look.
Embark with us on a fun nature safari in search of the “king of the woods”, as the Moose or Elk (Alces alces) is called in Norway. This trip will also take you to parts of the island that you otherwise would not have seen.
Our guide and driver will take you to the best spots to find this iconic animal, the largest member of the deer family. Learn more about their life so far north and about Arctic nature in general. Warm drink and snacks included.
DURATION:
The trip lasts between 3 and 4 hours, depending on how soon we find the Moose.
WILDLIFE:
Remember, it is about wild animals: While we have a very high success rate for sightings, we cannot guarantee that the moose can be seen on every trip. But we do our best to find them. Our guides know the island well and are also eager moose spotters in their free time. It may be necessary to stay in the car to make good observations, as moose are easily startled by humans (but not by cars).
