Nature walk under the northern light

Join us for a lovely evening walk through the clean winter landscapes of Andenes, ending with a chance to see the amazing northern lights.

Your adventure begins with a brief introduction from our guide in Andenes, where headlamps and, depending on conditions, crampons or snowshoes will be provided. Together, we’ll follow a wooden trail leading to the serene location of Møsje. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the local landscape, nature, and the unique beauty of winter in the Arctic.

At "Møsje", a quiet place with little light and a wide view of the sky, you’ll have the perfect spot to look at the northern lights. In a cozy shelter hut, your guide will prepare a small fire, serving warm drinks and delicious barbecued sausages with potato bread. Relax by the warmth of the fire as you soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

If conditions allow, you’ll experience the magic of the northern lights dancing above, before returning to Andenes.

Magic Aurora: In Andenes we can see the Aurora after the sun goes below the horizon again (midnight sun May - July). We see her best from late autumn - when the evenings get darker.

AURORA BOREALIS

The Northern Lights phenomenon occurs when solar winds hurl electrically charged particles towards earth. The particles are electrons and protons which create light when they collide with the gases in the atmosphere.
