Whalesafari at Skjervøy with traditional boat

Spectacular winter experience! Whale watching with our large traditional boat in Skjervøy.

The winter herring season in Skjervøy, Troms, is a unique period attracting orcas, humpbacks, fin whales & sperm whales feeding side by side. Experience the whales close up as they are following the herring. We offer whale watching in winter from November 2025 to end of January 2026 in Skjervøy. Warm oversuits are provided and soup is served after your trip. We also offer transportation from Tromsø. Our companies Whalesafari Andenes and Whale2Sea combine whale watching with research on the whales. Our guides are highly trained and will tell you about the different species we see. Both the captain and the guides are also trained in safety and will take good care of our guests!

MOST DAYLIGHT AND MORE WATCHING
The winter in the Arctic means shorter light during the day. Our trips starts early and we use all the daylight there is. This means that you get most out of our whale watching tour! We approach the whales respectfully in their proximity.

SHORTEST DISTANCE TO THE WHALES
The whale watching starts from the harbor at Skjervøy Brygge, and there is a short distance out to the whales. Please be at the harbor at Skjervøy Brygge, 45 minutes prior to departure. We provide warm suits for all our guests.

Experience wild nature with us in northern Norway! The wilderness is not a theme park designed to serve our needs. This means we do not control everything, such as the weather or the behaviour of the whales.
